On the Cannes Waterfront in the 1950s, a French perfumer backstage witnessed that actresses, due to frequent on-camera appearances and staying up late for busy schedules, had tired and dull skin. Under the spotlight, though their smiles were radiant, they could not hide the fine lines at the corners of their eyes nor the trouble of dry, flaky skin.

She thought, “Cinema is the art of light and shadow, and a woman’s skin should glow as delicately as a movie screen.”

In 1962, a French perfumer drew inspiration from the sunshine and sea breeze of southern France. Combining the natural gifts of the Mediterranean with cutting-edge biological technology, he formulated the first essence centered on the concept of “Guangxi Zhimei” (Radiant Purity & Ultimate Beauty).
